Is there a trolley tour at Garden of the Gods?

Yes. Adventures Out West runs an open-air trolley from the Visitor & Nature Center: 14 seats, 35 to 45 minutes, hourly from 9 AM to 4 PM, $22.00 per person plus a concession fee. It does not stop along the way.

The Jeep tours, the vehicle-tour FAQ adds, will do their best to find a stop but cannot promise one. If you want time out of the vehicle at the rocks, the park says hiking tours give the best up-close view, and the free summer shuttle drops you at the trailheads on the east side.

How much is a Segway tour at Garden of the Gods?

Booked at the Visitor & Nature Center, $105 per guest plus an 18% concession fee, hourly from 9 AM to 1 PM, with no children under 12. The Garden of the Gods Segway Tour on GetYourGuide lists from $155 per person.

The park's Segway tour passes the North and South Gateway Rocks, Kissing Camels, Three Graces, Sleeping Giant, the Park Overlook and Praying Hands, with several short stops. A Glen Eyrie Segway tour (about an hour and a half) costs $105 plus 18% and an $11 Glen Eyrie fee. Late arrivals may lose the tour and still be charged, and the operator needs 24 hours notice to cancel.

Jeep, Segway, e-bike or trolley: which suits you?

The operators draw the lines: Segways are not for children under 12 or anyone who is not nimble on their feet, and are cancelled below 45 F. E-bike tours suit most ages and abilities. Jeeps and the trolley need no riding at all, and the trolley does not stop.

  • Little time: the trolley, 35 to 45 minutes from the Visitor Center.
  • With a wheelchair: the ADA-accessible Jeep, booked ahead by phone, or the paved trails on your own (trails).
  • With kids: e-bikes (cargo bikes for little ones) or a Jeep; not the Segway under 12. More in Garden of the Gods with kids.
  • Beyond the park: several Jeep listings also go to Manitou Springs, the Old Stage Road or the foothills.

Is there a free tour of Garden of the Gods?

The free one is the self-guided audio tour from the City of Colorado Springs and the Garden of the Gods Foundation, played on headphones or car speakers. The daily guided nature walk at 10:30 AM costs $5 and needs a reservation.

How do you book at the park?

Park tours can be booked online up to 2 hours before departure. Inside 2 hours, book in person at the activities desk on the lower level of the Visitor & Nature Center; walk-up seats are first come, first served. Allow time to park in summer: see parking and shuttle.
